Many of Chicago’s most historic neighborhoods have received a makeover from developers in recent years. Areas such as the West Loop and South Loop have seen old buildings converted into luxury condominiums and lofts.

One development that offers a number of luxury residences is Prairie Avenue Lofts. This development is located along the historic Prairie Avenue, which runs south from 18th Street. Prairie Lofts was a project by Legacy Development. Completed in 2001, this development currently offers a number of luxury condos for sale.

The most affordable unit on the market at Prairie Lofts is a one-bedroom and one-bath loft that offers a total of 1,000 square feet of living space. This unit was originally listed at $275,000, but has already been reduced to just $230,000. Other one-bedroom units are listed at up to $280,000.

The most affordable two-bedroom loft currently on the market at Prairie Lofts is a two-bedroom and one-bath unit that offers a total of 1,132 square feet of living space. This condominium is priced at $285,900. Other two-bedroom units are priced as high as $434,900.

Efforts by neighborhood organizations in the South Loop to limit higher buildings in the neighborhood have failed, after members of the Chicago Plan Commission gave approval for the development of two towers in the area.

The towers are part of Central Station, which will offer both townhomes and condominiums. The two new towers will be located on Roosevelt Road, and will have 73 and 83 stories, making them the tallest towers in the South Loop. The development is led by Fogelson Properties, which had originally planned to build two smaller towers at the site, but decided to increase the height and add more units to the buildings.

Residents complained that the buildings would cast a shadow over the neighborhood, and presented photos of what the area would look like once the towers are completed at a meeting of the Plan Commission on Thursday.

However, despite protests from neighborhood groups, the developer will be able to go ahead with the project, marking a new era in the South Loop real estate market. The towers will surely be one of the first of a new wave of ultra tall developments in the southern part of downtown.
