Most expensive neighborhoods to buy a condo in Chicago
The latest numbers from the Chicago Association of Realtors give us the most expensive neighborhoods to buy a condominium in the city.
During the third quarter, the Near North Side led all Chicago neighborhoods with an average sales price of $526,148. It is the 10th straight year that the neighborhood has come out on top of the list.
The Loop came in second during the third quarter, with an average sales price of $470,094. The Loop is the Chicago neighborhood that saw sales prices increase the most during the third quarter. The average sales price was up nearly 40 percent from the same period last year.
Rounding out the top five most expensive neighborhoods in the city were Lincoln Park, the Near South Side, and Forest Glen.
All of these neighborhoods, with the exception of Forest Glen, are home to some of the most luxurious new developments in the city. With mega projects such as the Chicago Spire and the Trump International Hotel and Tower, it’s no surprise that the Near North Side continued to lead the rankings.
