XO Condominiums to reshape the Chicago Skyline
The development of the South Loop continues with the addition of a luxury high-rise condominium development. The two towers will have 45 and 34 stories.
A total of 487 condominiums will be available upon completion of the $250 million project. Kargil Development Partners, a fusion of New York and Chicago builders, is the company behind the project.
Buyers will be able to choose from several floor plans. One-, two-, and three-bedroom units are available, all with different styles. Prices for XO Condominiums start at $200,000 for the smallest one bedroom and range up to as high as $2 million.
Amenities include the standard array of granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and prewiring for high speed internet access.
The development has been announced amidst a difficult period for the Chicago real estate market. Sales of Chicago Condos are down throughout the city, and areas that have been heavily developed such as the Near South Side are seeing a notable drop in sales.
According to the Chicago Association of Realtors, a total of 237 condos were sold on the Near South Side during the second quarter of 2007, a 40 percent drop from last year.
